The UMD Parents Philanthropy Board (PPB) provides a unique opportunity for undergraduate parents to engage in the life of the university while playing a vital philanthropic role in enhancing the Terp student experience. Through membership, parents gain a deeper understanding and knowledge of the workings of the university and the Division of Student Affairs, and personally interact with university and volunteer leaders.

Members of the Parents Philanthropy Board:

  • Participate in the tradition of parent giving with a minimum annual gift of $2,500 to the Parents and Family Student Life Fund;
  • Welcome new and prospective University of Maryland families;
  • Host or attend regional or on-campus events and promote parent involvement;
  • Attend on campus meeting during fall Family Weekend and Maryland Day in the spring;
  • Build their own special relationship with UMD.
